Obscure
band's albums much in demand
Marc Allan, Popular Music, Indianapolis
Star, December 21, 1993

Ray Pierle can't believe it, but the first album
his band McKay recorded a homemade 1978 effort called
Into You, of which only 300 copies were pressed now
sells in collectors' circles for as much as $1,200.
A Belgian record catalog asks 30,000 Belgian
francs (about $810) for the album, which it describes as "ultra-rare
Indiana west coast-sounding guitar psychedelia similar to...
Buffalo Springfield." A Swiss collector tracked Pierle
to Indianapolis, looking for copies of the record and information
about McKay.
Into You sounds something like a lost Neil Young
session from the 1970s. It's enjoyable and stands up reasonably
well over time.
But even in its prime, McKay was virtually unknown
in Indianapolis and absolutely unheard of elsewhere.
